Today I’m unveiling a new addition to Energy Flux: subscriber chat.
This is a conversation space for all readers — kind of like a group chat or live hangout. I’ll post market-relevant questions and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion.
To start with, chat threads will be open to all readers. In the future, some might be paywalled. First I need to experiment with the feature and gauge interest.
Check out the first thread here and ping me a message!
Below are some instructions for getting started.

How to get started
Get the Substack app by clicking this link or the button below. New chat threads won’t be sent sent via email, so turn on push notifications if you want to be alerted to new conversations. You can also access chat on the web.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.

Sizing up the LNG glut (part 1)
With the aftershocks from 2022 still reverberating, the liquefied natural gas market is awash with tension and uncertainty. Before much longer, it will be awash with surplus LNG too.
Germany bites the gas storage bullet
Never underestimate the ability of German bureaucrats to find a way to make an impossibly bad situation even worse.
